Health & Wellness: What it means to the Marketplace

Monday, July 30, 2018 was the second in a series of salons that promised attendees that they would meet someone who would change their life. The concept of SMALL TALKS was borne of the idea of inspiration, imagination with intense interaction. SMALL TALKS is a modern, high tech version of 17th century salons. SMALL TALKS brings people of different generations and multiple disciplines to present ideas and exchange thoughts about new business opportunities. SMALL TALKS focuses on high level thinking; not any specific industry or business. This is why guests are rarely in the same business. The event held on July 30th was an exception to the rule.

Lynda sought to bring together diverse personalities and background in a relaxed setting poolside at Penthouse Pool and Lounge atop VIDA Fitness The Yards. Holding the event there was the newly expanded version of SMALL TALKS with over thirty guests attending. Washington’s summer storms had an affect on the attendance but the intrepid made it there. Some had commutes taking up to three hours that would have normally been thirty minutes.

Sean Burch, Extreme Fitness Guru and Adventurer challenged us to consider the topic of Health and Wellness and what it means to the Marketplace. Don Griner, President, DgDPLUS Creative Alliance and Issac Brown, President, Extended Hospitality Group, LLC were responsible for connecting Sean Burch to SMALL TALKS as they are, in part, launching fitness concepts as a component in their hotel development strategy. Sean is equally interested in health and wellness as it relates to the hotel industry. He announced his association with Prem Devadas, President of Salamander Hotels and Resorts and Sheila C. Johnson, successful entrepreneur and impassioned philanthropist, CEO of Salamander Hotels and Resorts. He will soon be launching an exciting new fitness concept, exclusive to this growing hospitality hotel ownership group.

After initial introductions and welcome, Lynda Welte, Principal, Blueprints for GREEN Design, Independent Manufacturer’s Representative, Serial Entrepreneur and creator of SMALL TALKS asked each guest to introduce themselves and offer thoughts on tonight’s topic. Amazing revelations ensued. All guests came away energized and continued their conversations at the close of Sean Burch’s segment.

Transition Career and Lifestyle

Antonio Del Moral, retired design executive at Marriott International, artist and art director at Galeria Adelmo, Miami, FL

Thursday, October 20, 2016 was the first in a series of salons held at the West Wing, showroom and home office of Lynda Welte, manufacturer’s representative, Blueprints for GREEN Design. SMALL TALKS is the official name of these “salons”. The concept of SMALL TALKS was borne of the idea for Inspiration, Imagination with lively Interaction!

Lynda sought to bring together diverse personalities and background in a relaxed setting. The showroom “setting” features furnishings of the fine manufacturers that she represents. Guest speaker for the evening was Antonio Del Moral, retired design executive at Marriott International, artist and art director at Galeria Adelmo, Miami, FL. The evening got off to an exciting start with guests mixing and mingling. Antonio spoke of his career at Marriott international supported by a beautiful slideshow of installation hotel scenes. An inside look at the early international development was most enlightening. The guests were absolutely fascinated with questions and sharing of their own travel/guest experiences with this major hotel brand. Fortunately, Antonio not only shared a visual presentation of Galeria Adelmo, he also brought with original art from the gallery. Happy guests made purchases. Guests were able to see four original paintings that Lynda purchased last December from Antonio for his Miami gallery. Cold Washington winters promise that she’ll make a return trip to visit Antonio and Michael Hellem.
